Celtic Christmas in the Off Season
It's May 1st, yet the Celtic Christmas spirit crept up on me like a cat eyeing a Christmas ornament. I want to pounce on it. I want to sing Celtic Christmas songs. I'm in the middle of mixing my next CD, Sci Fi Drinking Songs, yet I'm planning my Christmas album.
In the meantime, I'm listening to A Celtic Christmas. That's the compilation I released last year. I love it! It's great Celtic music any time of the year, but it's also 100% Christmas music. That's what good Celtic Christmas music should be.
I'm at the airport right now. It's warm, but the music cools me down. Man, I feel good.
I came across a great idea for this year's holiday season. I don't know if I will use this idea for A Celtic Christmas or for my Celtic Christmas Songs EP (on iTunes). The idea... I want to release a Celtic Christmas CD as a greeting card.
Yup. You read that right. When you buy the album, you will be able to send the entire CD.
Best of all, I'm gonna price the album such that if you buy in bulk the price will be low enough that you'll be able to send these "cards" as both Christmas card and gift. Double whammy!
I LOVE this idea!
In 2013, I released a ton of awesome Irish Christmas Cards that went alonside the release of A Celtic Christmas. They were designed by Amanda Carman who didn't a BRILLIANT job capturing the Celtic and the Christmas. If you get a chance to look at the album cover, notice all the Celtic knotwork snowflakes. I love those.
This year, I will have twice as many Christmas cards to share. Just you wait!
In the meantime, I will start planning this year's Celtic Christmas invasion with even more Christmas songs of my own for you to enjoy.
Slainte!
